Farmers Markets and Farm Stands are Essential

ESSENTIAL SERVICES: Today, March 23, Governor Baker issued an emergency order ordering nonessential businesses and organizations to close their physical workspaces and facilities to customers, workers and the public. EXCEPT:

  • Essential services are to continue operation, including “Workers supporting groceries, pharmacies and other retail, including farmers markets and farm stands, that sells food and beverage products, including liquor stores.”

  • Assemblage Guidance prohibiting gatherings of more than 10 people "…DOES NOT apply to normal operations at airports, bus and train stations, ferries, polling locations, grocery stores, farmers’ markets, food pantries, banks and pharmacies.”
