Brockton Farmers Market Challenge is ending on Weds, Feb 15! Please consider donating today.

Brockton Farmers Market Needs Your Help to Build a Better Market: one that's open longer, has more vendors, and more family-friendly initiatives!

They are SO CLOSE to their Goal of $30,000 raised by next Wednesday, February 15. If they meet this goal, MassDevelopment will match it with another $30,000 investment.

Your donation will help this vision come to life!

What makes the Brockton Farmers Market a special place?

The Brockton Farmers Market supports a diverse community that relies on the market for fresh, affordable food. When the market shuts down every year in October - due to lack of funding - shoppers struggle to find fresh produce that is affordable and accessible. This area is a "food desert" meaning there are limited options for folks to walk or use public transit to find nutritious food resources that will accept SNAP or HIP benefits. Grocery stores are few and far between and prices at these stores has jumped dramatically in recent months. The Farmers Market provides a convenient, friendly place for folks to source high-quality food and stretch their food dollars.

If this fundraiser is successful, market expansion will allow for a longer season and more vendors to sell a wider variety of food, supplies and wares that are vital to the health of this community.

Additionally, the market is a safe place where customers can learn about food assistance benefits and take advantage of family-friendly activities. Currently the market is a place to pick up free lunches for children under 18 during the summer months and has limited free family entertainment and library activities. Additional funding would expand food access services and build more activities to support families and children.

The market is a cornerstone of this community. Expanding and enhancing it will be a direct investment in the health and wellness of the people of Brockton, especially those most vulnerable.

Every dollar counts! We're hoping our MFM community will step up and help bridge the gap in funding needed to reach the $30,000 goal. As of this writing they are less than $6,000 away from their goal.
