Second Annual Youth Tomato Contest is Monday, August 7 @ Central Square Farmers Market
*JUICE NEWS* Our highly anticipated Second Annual Youth Tomato Contest is TOMORROW, Monday, August 7th, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Central Square Farmers Market.
JOIN US for a tomato-tasting, slicing, and admiring extravaganza!
ALL KIDS aged 2-18 are invited to participate and present their tomatoes for judging. Thank you to Kimball Farms for gifting tomato seedlings to some participants in June.
Tomato judging will begin at 3:45 pm. Check out our website for our prestigious list of *professional tomato* judges.
Farmers Market Week @ Kendall Square
Tour Du Farm Bike Ride with Green Cambridge!
Get ready for a fascinating 90-minute bike ride adventure called the Tour Du Farm, hosted by Green Cambridge. The journey begins at the Kendall Square Farmers Market on Thursday, August 10th, departing at 4 p.m. We'll pedal through the city, exploring the vibrant agricultural scene and making stops at three fantastic gardens along the way. Our first stop will be Squirrel Brand, the lovely Cambridge Community garden, followed by South Street, the inspiring Groundwork Somerville garden. Finally, we'll head to Hurley Neighborhood Farm, hosted by Green Cambridge. Each garden visit will last approximately 20 minutes, giving you ample time to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and learn about local produce and sustainability efforts. 2:00 pm: The MA Department of Agriculture Representatives + additional State and Local Politicians will be visiting the market!
2:30 pm: Commonwealth Cambridge will give a “demo” and talk about BBQ on Thursday, August 10th at 2:30. They will provide some samples!
