Check out this resource from the Farmers Market Coalition regarding accounting and tax considerations when markets process SNAP for their vendors. There is guidance for when markets are required to issue 1099s to their vendors for SNAP transactions processed through the market.
Help Tell the Story of the Modern Farmers Market Movement
In an effort to understand the evolution of farmers markets over the last 50 years, the Farmers Market Coalition is seeking stories that share how individual farmers market organizations got their start. If you are a market manager or founder, please take their brief market history survey. Learn more about the survey here. They encourage all markets in the U.S. to participate.
