A HEARTY THANK YOU! to the guests and generous
contributors at our first-ever
Urban Barn Dance and Harvest
Supper
On Friday evening, October 24th, Somerville's Dilboy VFW
Hall was transformed. Hay bales flanked the
entrance, corn stalks lined the walls and the stage, and cowboy hats hung from
hooks on the walls. A lively crowd of over 100
enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Chef Bob Sargent of Arlington's Flora
restaurant. Many, many thanks to Bob for his hard work and for the tasty
results! See our events page for a
complete menu!
We are also very grateful to Kate Stillman and Aidan Davin of Stillman's at the Turkey
Farm for donating an entire locally
raised pig to the event! Chef Sargent consistently attributed the success of
his dishes to the quality of the ingredients
(though we know it was the synergy of his inspiration and great raw
materials!).
Mass Farmers Markets would also like to thank Whole Foods Market and Hamilton Orchards of New Salem, MA for
donating apple crisp and apple cider donuts to
finish off the meal. Guests devoured dessert after enjoying over an hour of
lively dancing to the tunes of "John Deere and
the Herd," under the guidance of caller David Titus.
See our events
page for many more thank-yous!
Our Farmers Markets are open right up until
Thanksgiving!
